Accredited under ISO 9001/2000 and ISO 14001/2004, Duke Austin & Company is an independent company founded in 1989 to provide broad-based marine consultancy. Gradually, the team grew and began to specialise in the expanding world of tanker vetting and inspection. There is now a team of 16 accredited inspectors working through an office with 4 employees handling inspection schedules, travel and accounts.
The inspectors have all sailed for many years in senior positions on deck or in the engine room and know the problems that face today’s industry. Additionally, the inspectors have experience in various managerial positions ashore or as superintendents allowing them a broader view of modern shipping; our training focuses these skills in order that the inspectors can provide a reasoned and objective overview for risk assessment.
Our inspectors are all Category 1 accredited SIRE Inspectors and are routinely audited by OCIMF to ensure the highest standards are achieved.
