Peter Devenport has spent many years working within the shipping industry starting his career as an apprentice with London and Overseas Freighters in 1963. He went on to serve on general cargo, container and all types of tankers where he gained experience as a master. He has worked as a fully qualified auditor for both ISM and ISO and is experienced in ISM manual writing for shipping companies. He has been a SIRE accredited inspector since 2004 and is also involved in ship assessment work and on board training of masters and ship’s crews within the tanker industry. He has many years’ experience as a pilot for BHP-Billiton in Liverpool and for Marathon Oil in Equatorial Guinea. He has bases near Manchester and Bordeaux.
