Peter Devenport has spent many years working within the shipping industry starting his career as an apprentice with London and Overseas Freighters in 1963. He went on to serve on general cargo, container and all types of tankers where he gained experience as Master.
He has worked as a fully qualified auditor for both ISM and ISO 9001 and is experienced in ISM manual writing for shipping companies. He has been an OCIMF SIRE Category 1 accredited inspector since 2004.
Additionally, Peter is involved in ship assessment work and on-board training for masters and ship’s crews within the tanker industry. He has many years’ experience as a pilot for BHP-Billiton in Liverpool and for Marathon Oil in Equatorial Guinea.
He is uniquely based between Manchester and Bordeaux.
