Michael Quain spent 28 years at sea, mostly in chemical tankers, including 11 years as Master. During the following 11 years of shore based activity he worked as Marine Superintendent in Chartering & Operations and, as Marine Safety & Quality Manager, he headed the marine department of a large ship manager with responsibility for the safety management of up to 40 ships. He has 4 years experience as a vetting inspector with more than 300 inspections completed.
Michael is a member of the Nautical Institute, Honourable Company of Master Mariners and the Royal Institute of Navigation; he is also a Younger Brother of Trinity House.
Mike is a keen sportsman and can be regularly found in the front row of Limassol Crusaders Rugby Union club, in Cyprus where he is now based. He also holds a black belt in Tae Kwon do!
