Gordon Mackay

Gordon began his career at sea with Mobil shipping rising to 2nd Engineer before becoming Chief Engineer in the broader industry. After a period as an engineering surveyor with Lloyd's Register, worked as Superintendent Engineer with responsibility for a wide variety of vessels, new building programs, budgets and repair programs.

For 3 years Gordon lectured Class 1 Deck & Engineering students at South Tyneside College, including the updating of STCW95 endorsements for petroleum and gas vessels. Then after a 2 year period as Fleet Manager with a major ship management company, he became a consultant engineer.

His accreditation as a SIRE vetting inspector covers all types of vessel and, being based in the North East of the UK is able to cover work in that area and can easily travel throughout Europe.
