Mercy Ships is an international charity using hospital ships and land-based programmes to deliver free specialised health care and community development services to the forgotten poor – the most vulnerable people in the poorest of nations.
Mercy Ships operates in the field almost entirely with dedicated volunteers from the medical world – surgeons, doctors, dentists, ophthalmic surgeons as well as agriculturalists and engineers.
Our latest ship, the Africa Mercy, the world’s largest hospital ship, provides a portable and stable environment in which to deliver specialised operations unavailable in most developing nations, bringing hope and transforming lives to those who could never have believed it possible.
